The Validity of NBI Clearance is one year. So, when you need to Renew an NBI Clearance for your requirement in your job abroad and you don’t know how to start, and you need to get the NBI Clearance while working or living abroad. here’s how:
HOW TO APPLY AN NBI CLEARANCE WHILE IN ABROAD
Step 1. NBI Form No.5 – Go to the Philippine Embassy/Consulate Office in the country where you are living or working abroad. Ask the NBI Clearance Application Form (NBI Form No.5) to the personnel in the Philippine Embassy.
You can Ask also your relative living in the Philippines to get the (NBI Form No.5) in the Mailed Clearance Section, 3rd Floor, NBHI Clearance Building, UN Avenue, Manila Philippines.
Step 2. Fill-up Form – Once you have the NBI Clearance form, fill out the form and go to the Philippine Embassy or Police station near you for fingerprinting. We need to sign the way for someone who will assist you in fingerprinting. Expect to pay for Processing and Notarial fee
You need a 2×2 picture to attach in your application form. 2×2 picture in the white background at least three months taking, photocopy of your Passport and other available valid ID’s. See the list of Valid ID’s you can use in NBI Clearance
Step 3. Register Online – New Applicants for NBI Clearance in abroad are also required to make registration online at clearance.nbi.gov.ph
The Reference Number will be needed in NBI Clearance Online. To get the Reference number, you will need to sign-up and to sign-in to get the reference number.
As an applicant, your Reference Number will be your code for obtaining the data in NBI. So make sure to copy the Reference Number.
Step 4. Payment – The NBI Clearance fee depends on the country where you live. The exact amount of your NBI Clearance can only get in the Philippine Embassy/Consular office where you plan to apply your NBI Clearance.

Two (2) Option to Process your NBI Clearance.
- Mail all the requirements needed, such as NBI Clearance Form No. 5, Authorization Letter, Special Power of Attorney, Reference Number and 2×2 picture to your relative or friends who will process your NBI Clearance in NBI Clearance Main Building located at Ermita Manila. With all this, your authorized representative can proceed to apply or process the Application in the Mailed Clearance section in the main building to submit and pay the NBI Clearance requirements.
- Go to the Philippine Embassy or Consular office and ask them to do it for you. in this case, you will need to enclose a money order or bank draft to the authorized person in the Philippine Embassy who assigned in NBI Clearance. It has an additional fee for the courier of your Application if you want to know more about the processing of your NBI Clearance from abroad, go to the Philippine Embassy and ask the staff how to process.
